Price of iron ore has dropped because of the Virus in China, guess scrap price goes right a long with it.Suits me parts tractors and steel will be cheaper at auctions.

i stopped by a small scrap center that buys scrap metal. asked him what he was paying for scrap steel, he said he wasnt buying any, but i could drop it off and he would get rid of it. told him id have to pass on that deal.

Great, have a small load to go in today. Was at $95 a ton last week in Norfolk Nebraska. Was going up lately and have a few trailers to unload and planned to get cleaned off this week.

I worked on cleaning out some of my old salvage this week end, I had quite a few early 90's to 2003 engines I had taken apart. Aluminum heads, intakes and such I will get all the steel off of them and throw in my clean aluminum pile. The steel will go into a junk car I will hold out till the price gets right to sale.

Its a poor mans savings account : ) I hate to throw away good usable parts I do not see 20/25 year old engines parts of any value anymore.

All I have left iron is bunch of tractors that are parts units. Been stripping copper, even with machine wonder if worth it.

It had been steady here for about a year and a half. $120/ton. I hauled off a gooseneck load about 2 months ago. 4k pounds and by the time they docked me for the 2 corn heads not being cut up I came home with $160. Hurt my feeling but I'm not looking at them anymore.

30$ a ton use to get 250$ a ton . Your right it?ll keep the druggies from scraping all the old equipment but it might drive parts higher if they can?t make money on the scrap they may try to make it up in parts
