Computer question- Shortcut

I've got a file that I go to often, so would like to put a shortcut on the desktop for it. But don't know how. A little help here?

Go to the document wherever it is, I assume documents folder. DON'T open it. Right click on it. In the list you should find SEND TO... click send to Desktop (create short cut)

Windows 10 is not friendly with making shortcuts to desktop. I have a ton of them that were saved when going to 10 from 7 but no success with adding new ones. Right click doesn't do it for me.

[i:ee331fd0a7][color=red:ee331fd0a7]The right-click keyboard shortcut is to hold down SHIFT and then press F10. That's one of my favorite keyboard shortcuts because it comes in VERY handy and sometimes it's actually easier to use the keyboard than the mouse[/color:ee331fd0a7][/i:ee331fd0a7].

For saving a shortcut to a webpage;

-Click on the three dots (upper right hand corner)

-Scroll down and select "More tools"

-Select "Open with internet explorer"

-After page reloads right click and select "create shortcut"

OK, that means I can add a short cut to any web site I choose,
like Yesterdays Tractors as a example by using keyboard.

I have tried different methods with no success.

(quoted from post at 10:22:38 01/25/20) No dots on desk top. Internet explorer obsolete. Using Google
Chrome.

Internet explorer comes with windows 10.
What Operating system do you have?

The dots show up on the address bar just below the X when you are viewing a web page.

I have windows 10 and internet explorer quit about a year ago. I use google chrome for browser.
I followed your directions, clicked (ah yes, they are there , I was on tablet at the time and knew
it had the dots but thought my desktop did not). I pulled up a web site, hit the dots, went to more
tools, didn't show internet explorer but did show add short cut, AND IT WORKED.

Thank you. I had been all over the web asking how to add short cuts as I used to just add them no
problem on windows 7. Lot of different ways I guess.
