A new friend from the stove bolt forum needed another front axle I happened to have. He brought his early ?47 to haul it home. I had to get my late ?47 out for photos.

Stovebolts were the best.
I ran 2 of them for years and my Dad had 2 and my uncle had one.
Still have one in the barn.

Nice!
I had a 47 Jimmy like that only my grills were still chrome. Bought it in Maybell, CO.
It was a 3/4 ton and had a 1940s? 50s?
aftermarket flat bed with sheep racks on it.
I put duals on it.

I?m afraid that would be a long haul with the 90 bhp gasser . I?m sure it could be done but I ain?t the man fer the job

That's a Couple of Beauties There.
Nice!

Being a Chevy guy at hart, have a 64 Chev C80 Tandem, and
A 77 K30 bought new and others, I developed a soft spot for the old
Dodge.
Rebuilt My 47 WDX 15 years ago and still enjoy taking it out.

Back when they were new I hauled a 5020 open station with axle mount dual wheels on a '64 C60 with roll back bed that was powered by a 292 cid. I remember that was a heavy load for that truck

Sure are pretty. I have tried to run GM vehicles and it always has turned into an abysmal failure. Ford or grew up on Chryslers Dodge Plymouth ran fine for me. Usually was engine problems. Made great wagons and trailers though.
Tom would love to find and old power wagon like that don't need a winch or all that just the truck.

Nice trucks. I have my dad's 55 GMC. All that is left is the chassis and running gear. I have it advertised for parts but no takers yet. Also have a 53 Chevy engine, low mileage put away in my shop.

My apologies! Got wrapped up showing your pics to the wife last night and forgot to comment.

Two calendar-worthy trucks right there! Wife also commented on how nice your yard/area looks (from what is seen). I have to agree.

Beautiful pics!! Thanks for posting.

I never understood why you were calling then stovebolts, think I understand now. Had a 49 Chevy from about 53-54 to 76 when body was about gone and could not get brake druns for it. 49 3600 216 4 speed 7:00x17 tires. Truck I learned to drive on in about 57.
