Farmall 666 hydraulics

Dr. Evil, Pete23, other IH gurus.

Wanting to run a round baler that requires 1800 psi hydraulics behind a 666. As we know the 666 is set at 1600 psi. Will it hurt anything to replace the 1600 psi relief valve with a 2000 psi valve? Will the rest of the system hold up. TIA.

I say you would be ok at near 2000 psi but worry when some go higher.

Have you tried the baler yet? It just might work fine with what you already have.

I have a baler that is supposed to require higher hydraulic pressure than my two cylinder Deere will make, and it works fine. I hear the relief valve squeal when I am closing the baler, and I'm told that the baler has some sort of restrictor to prevent the door from closing to fast.
