NAA Serial Number

I have a NAA Jubilee. Expected to find serial number on transmission casing just above the starter / flat spot on top of starter mount. Have cleaned all paint off. Nothing is there. Any ideas where else it could be?

Early jubs like mine have number on block.

First 22000 + jubs had block numbers.

As said, the early ones were on the block. The later ones on the
flat spot you described, but not on TOP of it like the x00 and later.
It was on the end of it. A nearly vertical surface.
It is hand stamped and can be hard to read.

If it is an early Jubilee and the engine has been changed, or a
later one with a transmission swap, you may not have one at all.
Almost all the parts are the same for both years though.
With the obvious exception of the nose badge.
