I have recently acquired a 47 Ford 2n and after a bit of work she is up and mostly running great. But I have become overly obsessed with it and cant stop working on her and planning jobs for it, have been planning a paint restoration and a re wire in the summer and costs are getting a bit crazy with shipping from the states, I live in Nova Scotia Canada. Wondering if anyone on here may have some ideas where I can order within Canada or somewhere with cheaper shipping, I have been looking through Steiner. I would like to make it through my first year of marriage so please help!

I agree, fellow Scotian. Im about 5 hours from there but would they be able to order in old Ford parts? Do you mind tipping me off on your other spots? Im going to do a paint restoration this summer and was thinking about re wiring (wiring harness) and getting proper lights and what not. With the exchange and 70$ at least shipping my project is looking a bit expensive.
 
Welcome. You are starting off a new marriage and a new hobby? Wow! What parts are you looking for? All new? I'm sure you may find some good used parts by going to the "Market Place" on this site and other sites. Look around.
 
Yes! I have been holding off showing her my sheet of estimated costs. New mostly, but I cant see an issue with buying used headlights and accessories that I will be stripping down anyway, I haven't looked at the marketplace, I am new to the site and haven't got out the the forums yet! A lot of good material to read. Thank you for the suggestion!
 
When I got married 20 years ago I also got the tractor bug after about a year. I saw an add for A Farmalls, so I asked her if I could go look at them. When I came back with two A's she said YOU Bought Two!!. I said you don't think I would buy me one and not buy YOU one do ya? Best twenty years of my life!
 
The wiring on those is so simple I would just make the harness myself. Only about 3or 4 wires on the whole tractor. Look for some of the wiring schematics on here and you will see what I mean.
 
I?m kind of in between Truro and Halifax, I?m thinking you must be up Cape Breton way? Cameron equipment in Salmon River deals pretty exclusively in old equipment. You should find some basic tune up and filter type parts available through Napa etc. You can also try Chown Tractor parts in Sussex NB (they do used parts and a line of new aftermarket), they?re good people to deal with. Otherwise there are a few places in Ontario, one I think deals in Steiners line of parts that they bring over the border. I?m not too up on Ford N parts, most of my stuff is IH, Case, Cockshutt, and Massey. Unless things have changed recently this site doesn?t ship north of the border. As the other poster mentioned for the wiring harness you?re further ahead to make on yourself. Good luck. Sam
 
morning: I got the south shore area, and vanoostrums is good as they can be with that line, ROD is known to be a lets see what person, and also " Fawcett Tractor Supply , in Ontario, have used/salvage stuff[ they have a web site].
Chowns are good to talk with, and they are at the SUSSEX flea market in NB, so parts could be picked up there this summer?
there are part machines in places not expected, just be patient and they will show up, and the boss will still like you.....
Time to start clean up, we got 6+inches of snow, and a bite to the wind...?.
 
Awesome thank you very much. Yeah on the way to Halifax from Cape Breton, almost blew off the causeway. Gave the lane a good scrape this morning.
 
Thank you Sam. Yeah I was considering just doing my own wiring just a lot easier and more neat getting the harness. Beggars can?t be choosers though!
