Those things are great.I have a Manaris opener on the side of my 14 foot commercial door. That is a big unit though. The door boys here tell me to use any of the 8000 series Liftmasters on my smaller door. They told me they are holding up well.Wayne Dalton doors have done some pretty innovative stuff with doors, but their execution of some of it has not been so good. They made a wall mount opener like the Liftmaster a few years ago,it was smooth and quiet, but it was quiet because it had plastic gears.Mine failed with very little use,and I can't get parts for it.

Does that have a battery built into it for the back up? I suppose there isn't a release so you can open the door by hand if the power is out when it is driven from the end.

I don't think so because if I unplug it it wouldn't work.
I just told you everything I know.
Google it.

That's a nice setup. With that opener, you should be able to install a taller door than with a typical chain, belt or screw drive since it doesn't take up any overhead.

I have two of those and they really are great. Yes there is an emergency release for the mechanism. The dead bolt lock also can be unlocked from the inside without electrics.
The only down side to these openers is this.
Because it depends on gravity to lower the door, if the tracks etc are not set perfectly, it may not go down and then the mechanics of the opener will sense a loose cable (which there will be) and revert to 'door up'. I had one of mine do this and we couldn't set anything right to make it work properly like the other one.

Surprise, Surprise. Liftmaster sells a compression spring kit that 'pushes' the door downward until gravity takes over.
My nephew also has one with the same problem but he was able to research it on the internet and make the required adjustments.

I've had mine for three years now and no issues except the above

I have 3 of those on my shop doors. I really like them they are super quiet and very smooth with no tracks hanging from the ceiling.
