Same here. I haven't been hunting since I was 16 except one time in the '70s a friend convinced me to go with him.

20 or so years ago I decided to try deer hunting. I was out there for about 1-1/2 hours and I thought "What the heck am I doing here?" I've got better things to do! Never considered doing it again!

right from my teens, my Dad and brother would go deer hunting on the 200 acre woods above and behind our farmstead. I preferred to stay in the warm
shop, fixing whatever needed it. at chore time, they would come home wet and mostly emptyhanded, while I was able to say "look what I did today".

Several years ago our pastor was sitting up in his tree stand on our river bottom in below zero weather. I was sitting in my recliner in my living room watching TV. A big buck came around the corner of the house and looked in the picture window. I texted Pastor that he should come and sit in my living room if he wants to get a big one. He was less amused than I was. :)

Years ago I got home from work early enough to hunt for 1/2 hour so
grabbed the shot gun and out I went. Wife said she would have supper
ready at 6-that would be 1/2 hour. When I sat down I noticed snow fall
in the action of my gun so I hunched over to shield from the snow. That
is the last thing I remember til I woke up. The moon was up high and it
was totally dark. When I got to the house it was 9pm. My supper was in
the oven keeping warm. Wife knew what happened and asked if I had a nice
nap.

I did that once. I got the milking done & all my chores and walk out back to our wood lot. I sat down with my back resting on a large tree. Well the sun came up & I got warm up just sitting. Well my eyes got heavy so when I open them I saw this Buck walking right by me. Well by the time I stood up & got my rifle up he was long gone. I never did that again/

I don't hunt, but working on the second shift. I got off at midnight. I sat down a little before 12:00 and when I woke up it was way past 12:00. I should have been well on my way home. Didn't do that again. Those were the days I would get up fairly early and do my tractor work, then go to work in the afternoon. I was always tired. Stan
