What can go wrong mostly likely will.

Took forever to get overhead door installed.

Han a monsoon rain. Good thing I hadn't put down the floor.

Yesterday I used back blade on Jubilee and worked on grade to make sure rain water runs away from barn.

Not sure when yard will be dry enough to bring in concrete.

So I've been working on a catwalk/storage shelf. I need catwalk to cover window with plastic and put cardboard in eves to prevent closed Cell foam from getting on them.

So next steps. compact the floor, 8 mil plastic, 5x10 wire, and 5.5 inches 4000#, cure and seal, then close foam.

Bad news, I think the roof has a leak. How else would the 2x4 get wet? I Put down cardboard.

Without vapor barrier under the roof and the weather changes it most likely is raining on the inside from sweating.

Mike,
I learned at age 10 all about condensation.
It rains when the sun melts the frost.
A leaky roof stop leaking when the rain starts.
That's why I put down cardboard.
If it's dry this morning , good chance it's a leak.

I could see with your previous pics your grade was not what you claimed it to be,, but then I would guess I have built a lot more pads/roads drainage's, and have a eye for dirt,, not many like me left any more,, hope you get it all worked out

I might have more news for you. There's all kinds of poles out there, lumber yards have many different ones. Different concentrations of chemicals. But if those poles don't have this much chemical in them, termites and rot might be headed your way;
?NatureWood? Alkaline Copper Quaternary ACQ Minimum 0.60 pcf ACQ
for Structural / Building Pole / Foundation Use

?Micro-Pro / Smart-Sense? Micronized Copper Quaternary MCQ Minimum 0.60 pcf MCQ for Structural / Building Pole / Foundation Use

?Micro-Pro / Life-Wood? Micronized Copper (tebuconazole) Azole MCA Minimum 0.23 pcf MCA for Structural / Building Pole / Foundation Use

Ordinary lumber yard poles might not have enough chemicals.
Those poles might only be approved by the manufacturers for decks or fence posts, NOT for permanent structural building foundations.

Sir George: you remind me of the current GEICO commercials. The coons and woodchucks are playing with you, and you are the one with the telescopic nose. HeHe-------Loren

nice looking building but you will need to allow for an air flow through it. if you don't that roof will have a problem with moisture at certain times of the year. if screws were used and put in right then there should not be any leaks from the rain. you might ask around about putting a moisture barrier in for your floor to keep it from sweeting during the summer. i did mine and it never has had a problem. I know you will enjoy it.

T thought I had the grade perfect. So what, I was wrong.

Silver lining, dirt got wet and settled in places I hadn't anticipated.

Glad I didn't let the builder do the floor.
He would have put p-gravel over the sod and used 3.5 inches of 3500$ fiberglass. No thanks

Mine will be 5.5 inches, 4000#, with wire.

No. Rain came in under skirt boards
No condensation this morning on cardboard I put down where 2x4 got wet in just one place.
Anyone want to wager cardboard will be wet nex good rain?
George

We all are wrong at times that is just how we are wired,, I just remember you being pretty set on you knew it all about it,, when it was brought up and you knew how to make it drain away,, how your ground can be driven on after a big rain as it drains so well,, sorry I was just picking on you a bit in fun, no harm intended

This barn is designed to have ventilation.
I have only seen one drop of condensate, which makes me think I have a leak in one place.

John,
your easy solution would result in a trip to the ER. Metal roof, 14 ft walls. I'll wait for the next rain.

If your builder is dumb enough to put gravel down before cutting the root mass/sod I would Run away from him fast,, to do that is beyond stupid as it would never bind together,, I have built many ponds/dams roads and building bases in the past 50 plus years,, never once have I ever leaf sod on any of them where compaction was needed,,
