We used to play the lotto, but didn't take long to find our luck was like that.

Was coming home from a doctor appointment one day. Drove past the small convenience store that we normally stopped at for a ticket. Wife asked if we should stop, but I said no. Neck was hurting pretty bad that day.

Well, 5 of the 6 numbers that we would always play were drawn!

Haven't cared a thing about the lotto ever since. :?

Never played much. First scratch off bought guy in front won 50.00 so you know there is no such thing as 2 in a row. On powerball or pick 3 or 5 all I have done is contribute to someone elses winning.

I played a couple times when it first cam out. All they had was scratch tickets that rumor was they were easy to win, a ploy to get you hooked.

But I never won anything...

Then one day I went for lunch a a little cafe/bar. The waitress had pooled all their tip money, sent someone next door to buy all the $1 lotto tickets they could get.

I watched as they stood there (ignoring the rush crowd customers) while they eagerly scratched away at the tickets.

Ever so often one would jump up and down squealing "another winner!" when a $2 or $5 ticket was scratched off.

When it was all said and done, they had successfully turned about $200 into $50.

I never bought another...

Man to wife " What would you do if I won LOTTO?"

Wife "I would take half and leave you."

Man " Well here is 6 bucks, I won 12 dollars. Try to keep in touch."

I don't play it.

There is a rumor going around that someone down here in Edinburg just recently won BIG.

I remember long ago when scratch offs just came out I was in a convenience store and saw some kids nagging their mother to buy some tickets.
She finally gave in and bought five. All came out losers. Mom was out five bucks and the kids walked out heads hanging low.

My neighbor down the road who I was on the Fire Dept. with won 52,400,000 back around 25 years ago. He didn't quit his job for 6 months because he got free uniforms there. Three years later he was still coming down to borrow stuff from me.

I have never bought a lottery ticket and probably never will. I feel that it is a morally bankrupt scam that the government has no business perpetrating. To a large degree it preys on those who can least afford it.

I've not bought a lottery ticket in many years, but recently I learned that at least some of those profits go to companies that are erecting those whirly monster wind turbines. I absolutely refuse to contribute to such evil doings.

Once the Russians came over to the US to learn how to run a lottery system. I said to the Russians on the elevator " nice country , we sell little pieces of paper for a dollar."
