In Goose's thread, Gary Mitchell wondered about the VA authorizing care from other medical facilities.

The VA does have such a program of sorts. It's called the Veterans Choice Program, and is available to qualified vets who would have to travel more than a specified distance to a VA care facility. There are other requirements. I've recently qualified, but still mostly ignorant of it all.

I was aware of that, but since I'm only a half hour or less from our VA outpatient clinic I don't think I'm qualified.
 

Triwest was a contract company. A new deal called mission is taking its place. The Va will be doing direct contact. No more having to get reinstated every 6 months. If you were in veterans choice you should be getting new card soon.
