Greening up here

We haven't been below 24 in several weeks now, it's starting to green up. It first started in the ditches and yards, but now the fescue in the pasture is starting to grow. When I put out hay, the cows come in, but the calves would rather stay out and graze. We are supposed to have rain to snow and ice Saturday, with a low of 18 Saturday night. I'm sure that will kill it off again. What do you think?

The snow will insulate the grass from the cold temperature and when it melts the Fescue should start growing no problem when the snow melts. We had 4" snow yesterday
down to about 20 last night supposed to go to 50 today and about 70 by Saturday, the Fescue should grow some for sure.Like yours my cattle hadn't been eating the hay much mostly grazing but yesterday with the snow they chowed down pretty good.Goats on the other hand were out browsing not giving the hay much attention.

my cover crop rye is really starting to green up. We had a cold late October so all the radish's and turnips died and now with the warm weather they are starting to rot and smell. some places the people were complaining that they smelled gas but it was the turnips!

Here too. Middle Tennessee. Bare spots greening up, flowers blooming, leaves sprouting.
