Had to go get a new battery for the 4020 I?ve been working on. They are on sale right now for 104$ out the door . I?ve had a set for 2 years on the 3020 left the key on several times ran em dead haven?t had an alternator on it all summer so when the batteries get low I?d just put the charger on em overnight .

Xenon lamps, per the interweb...

"A xenon bulb is a specialized type of gas discharge lamp, an electric light that produces light by passing electricity through ionized xenon gas at high pressure. ... Consumers are probably most familiar with xenon light bulbs from their use in automobile headlights."

I suspect they are the annoying bright blue headlights burning out our aging retinas!

The Xenon lights I'm familiar with put out a pencil beam of light that will light up a ridge line a mile and a half away but show nothing on either side of the beam of light. Not exactly what we need for tractor lights.

These are trapezoid beam the ones you are thinking of are spot beam then there flood beam pattern

Steve,
I think Xenon bulbs were used in camera flash and timing lights.
If my failing memory is correct, you need to apply about 300 vdc to bulb then trigger the bulb to discharge a fixed current for a controlled flash. The duration of the flash determined the exposure.

Back 35 or more years ago I bought a top of the line timing light and I believe it has a xenon bulb. Haven?t used it for years now.
