May have trouble sleeping tonight?

Do you ever need to make something work that is only off a little bit? I have a set of weights for a row crop Oliver and I wanted to put them on a Utility model 1600. Because it has a loader on it. Well the bolt holes were off by about 3/4". I did not want to notch the weights or the wheel. So out came the wire feed to make it happen. I am sure not proud of these, but the weights are on!

I am proud of the sort of C frame I made to use with my shop overhead crane to lift the weights in place. You can see it in the background of the picture.

I have weights on my IH584 that came off an H so the bolt holes do not line up. I used all tread and set it in at and angle and have them mounted that way

had that problem once on a ford 2000 took the wheel off laid them flat on the ground centered the weights then drilled new holes through the rims

This chart was supplied to case ih dealers after the fiat acquisition because of the difference between USA and Italian manufacturing procedures these bolts could take up any issues that would arise 🤨

Good thinking, saved some money over having to special order the top left one on the chart!

I would have turned the weights a bit and redrilled the holes to line up. More work maybe but no nonsense then. My brother and dad did that to the weights he put on the 574 from and old set of case weights. Now has about 800 LBS per wheel plus the ballast in the tires.

Sometimes you just do what you have to do to make something work. I've done a few shaky things to in order to make something work only I'm not brave enough to post it on the internet

Sometimes after I sleep on it and think about it for a few days I'll come up with a better way of doing something and go back for a re-do.

I always like the bolt chart. I first saw that 40 or more years ago I wonder how old it really. Probably made right after the first holes were drilled.
