Dec 17, 2019 - Biodiesel tax credit renewal attached to U.S. spending package. Stephanie Kelly. 2 Min Read. NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. lawmakers have amended a government spending bill to extend a tax credit for the biodiesel industry through 2022 ... The $1-per-gallon subsidy was included late on Monday

100% biodiesel is pretty much dead.
They lost that battle.

Now they are following in the footsteps of ethanol.
Government subsidized to make the cost comparable and mandated blending of 5 to 10 percent.
Some countries already have mandated blending. I think Canada is one of them.
The USA is not far behind with several stands jumping on board.
I think Mi has mandated blending and Iowa has a tax credit.

We run it in the summer but never in the winter. Even treated it will jell up in cold weather. Without treatment it will jell at 15 degrees. The first year we used it I had to lay under two semis along the road changing filters and pumping it out of the tanks. Big globs of fat/oil in the tanks. So we only run it April to Oct.

We actually get better mileage with the bio-diesel in the summer. My older tractors seem to run smoother on it too.

I have seen the problems ethanol can cause.I have seen what fuel additives can do to the land. If a tanker flips. What ever happened to just plain gadoline.

Bio Diesel is blended in six different percentages across Canada, depending on how warm/cold the area gets. Along the North shore of Lakes Ontario and Eire as well as British Columbia, we have the highest percentage of blend, as this is the warmest areas. You sure don?t want to try to use summer diesel in the winter.

Pure biodiesel doesn?t flow well for long term use unless you really work at it.

As a blend it?s great, helps replace a little of what we lost with sulfur. In Minnesota you run 5 to 20% blend year around.

Good stuff.

There was a romer that Willie was dead too.
So he wrote a song, ?I woke up still not dead again today?? - Willie Nelson ...

It's a hoot.

not dead

Our tractor is parked in the cold garage a mile from the Canadian border in MN with summer diesel in it! I had some medical problems last fall and just didn't get it switched. The tank is very easy to drain, when I get back in March I will drain the tank and put in winter diesel. Then have the block heater plugged in for a long time, and then warm the fuel filters with a hair dryer. Unless it's 35 F, then just use it. We usually take our walk behind snow blower to open up the first track anyhow.
