OT Photo Enhancer

I would like to enhance this photo to a degree where the lic plate is legible...any suggestions would be great. thx

It appears the original photo is out of focus. If that's the case, the chances you can recover the license plate info are remote.

iven the blurr, haze and texture of the photo paper, I say you are not likely to read that plate.

That stuff you see on all the crime shows about enhancing pictures is simply Hollywood trickery. If the picture is grainy, it can't be made any better.

With a digital picture, depending on how it was printed, there MAY be ways to make it somewhat clearer if the data is higher resolution, but don't count on a lot.

I doubled the number of pixels, chopped out the plate only, enhanced the sharpness, and changed the contrast. It isn't much. Photo shop is good, but not a miracle. Jim

I read one of those little anecdotes once in Readers Digest. Lady brought an old photo to the film shop. She wanted them to [color=darkred:b30aa593b7]remove uncle Charles, so she could see who was standing behind him.[/color:b30aa593b7] Always thought that was kind of funny. I know thats not the case here, just reminded me of it.

I tried running it through photoshop and couldn't do anything with it. Sometimes in grayscale you can increase the contrast but there isn't enough to work with.

Do you have a scanner (e.g. an all-in-one printer)? If so, trying scanning that photo. If the original is actually in focus, you should get an in-focus digital image. Also, the scanner will probably give you a higher resolution image than taking a picture of the print with your phone.
