Tractor trivia questions followup (long)

First of all I would like to thank everyone for giving trivia questions. Unfortunately I needed the answers so I was not able a lot of the questions. BTW there were some very good ones, but I did not have time for a lot of research. There were even a few that I had used in the past like the Elvis tractor one. As time goes on I am always looking for information to use as trivia questions. Numbers 7, 11 and 19 all came from this page in the last few months and were really enjoyed by the people at the party. It gave them a good laugh. Thanks again!

1. What was IH?s first six cylinder Farmall tractor? 560
2. How many wheels do most tractors have? 6
3. What two brand spark plugs are named after the same man? AC and Champion-Albert Champion
4. What tractor was produced and sent to dealers and then the company ordered them all destroyed.
The Dain that was built by JD, but because they were very expensive, John Deere ordered them destroyed.
Some were parked on a frozen river and sank when the ice melted.
I have seen one that was totally restored.
5. Ok what is the most common problem you will have if you insist on leaving your garden / lawn tractor out in the rain all summer? You have a wet seat when you go to use it, A lot of times that dang rain water will find it's way down into the mandrels bearings and the idler pulleys. Ask me how I know. If you need to leave the machine out, at least throw a tarp over it.
6. What kind of tractor was presented to Dwight Eisenhower upon his retirement? Answer, a Cockshutt Blackhawk. The Cockshutt tractors were built in Canada, and Blackhawks were only built for two years, and are quite rare.
7. What tractor has the nick name Oil-all-over? Oliver
8. Case was known for their cross motor tractor. What other major tractor producer also produced a cross motor at the time Case produced them? Hart Parr
9. What was known as the Silver Seeder? Hint, it is not a planter or grain drill, Gleaner Combine
10. In 1947 IH started in the refrigeration business and sold the refrigeration division in 1955. Who bought the refrigeration division from IH? Whirlpool
11. IH produced the MTA tractor. What did MTA stand for? More trouble ahead
12. What was the concept of the single arm loader vs the dual arm loader? It was the first quick Attach loader
13. When did JD stop producing LP powered tractors? 1972, JD 4020 side console
14. In the late 1950?s a tractor company introduced a new hood design on it?s tractors with an eyebrow. What tractor company are we talking about. CASE
15. What is referred to as a red nosed Minneapolis Moline? Z,U,ZTU etc with the red grills
16. In 1910 IHC climbed ahead of what tractor manufacturer as the leading tractor producer? Hart Parr, by 1911 it was producing 1/3 of all tractors in the U.S.
17. What tractor would Jesus drive? CASE, If you research the bible, the word Case is used seven time, Ford once, and Deere, IH, Massey. Oliver and Allis is not used at all
18. In 1929, Three companies combined to form Minneapolis Moline which became one of the largest producers of tractors in the U.S. What were the three companies? Minneapolis Steel & Machinery Co, Minneapolis Threshing Machine Co. and Moline Plow Co.
19. When I was growing up all I had for protection for the weather was a CBS cab. They were cold in the winter and hot in the summer. What did CBS stand for? Clear Blue sky
20. In what year did Case start painting their tractors Flambeau Red? 1936 Then in what year did they change from using desert sunset and started using power white? 1974

23. When Farmall H?s and probably M?s were shipped to the UK during World War II, they were equipped with kerosene burning engine and no electricity. Why on these tractors that were equipped with wide fronts were set back in the rear position? So they could get more tractors in the holds of the ship.
24. How many HP was the Allis 200 when they came from the factory in the early 1970?s? 105
25. In what year did JD unseat IH as the world leader in farm equipment sales volume and to this day has never relinquished first place? 1958
26. What tractor has a foot clutch that you step DOWN on instead of pushing it FORWARD? Allis U, Ford N series, A lot of Massey Harris, IH 300U
27. The Continental and Chrysler engines were used in many tractors. They look very similar. What is an easy way to tell the difference between the two? The Continental?s distributor comes out the top of the engine and the Chrysler ?s distributor side of the engine.
28. When Case started to build self-propelled combines they had one big difference from all of the other producers. What was it? They used tractor engines
29. When was the culti-vision off set tractors first introduced? The Model A in 1939 The last one in 1985, the model 274
30. In 1923, Case built it?s 100,000th threshing machine, by 1926 what changed in production for CASE? They were building more combines than threshers

Great questions!

Wrong, they made massey harris with that style clutch. The Massey Harris 50. Yes many more were Massey Ferguson than Harris but they did make Harris as well.
 
Yes, I know, but the Massey Harris 50 is not at all similar to any other Massey
Harris, so, I kinda lump it in with the Ferguson's.

Related to #9, What do you use to patch up a Silver Seeder ?
You use a product called Gleaner Weld. (Also known as Duct Tape).
 
W,wk 40 ihc was 6 cylinder from the late 30s into 40s.used a truck engine, cant remeber green diamond? Other colors were not flatheads

S,the last trip in 2019 ending in October .Ivan was interviewed many times by the news media as he went from east coast to Montana and back. Why are rear tires mounted backwards on tractors? This was answered already, the ride is smoother on hard surfaces and the tires wear longer mounted backwards.

From what I understand the Buda diesel wasn't offered and Nebraska tested till later,after 1949.
