Injector washer / spacer

Long story short I have water get into the air intake of my tracked dumper. The 4th cylinder was full of water as was the entire manifold etc
All drained and spins free now. I took the injector out to ensure it wouldn?t hydrolock.

When the injector came out there was a dimples washer right between the injector tip and the head.

Should the concave be against the injector or the head?
Hopefully pictures will load .

Try again.

It?s an Isuzuengine by the way.

I have never (personally) seen a injector sealing washer like that --- never worked on that type of motor either. Thoes two injection pump guys should know that are on here all the time -- I am sure they will be done there naps shortly.

Yes after carefully checking I did see marks on the injector.
I have it all back together and it?s running very smooth.

The water issue is weird and hopefully a freak incident but we will keep a bucket over the air intake or park undercover when not in use.

Thanks. Grant

That's NOT a sealing washer, but injector tip HEAT shield. They should be replaced anytime injector is removed. The Bosch injectors on older GM and VW use a similar shield. The inner center/up edge goes toward the injector tip.

Thanks DT.
Interesting to know it?s a heat shield.
Yes I installed it the way you said and it?s all running fine.
I was most concerned that I would have a bunch of rust or stuck injector with all that water. But it?s smooth.
Thanks. Grant

Yes it?s a Morooka it?s a MS600 with dump box.
The box is about 6? wide and 9? long.

I have a golf course top dressing box that I am going to mount
on the back and make a sander for our cranberries.
