1989 Field Work

I've been spending some time converting vhs home video to dvd format and have uploaded this one to youtube. I thought some of you might like to see how we farmed in 1989. Applying pre-emergent granular herbicide in the fall on black summerfallow mainly to control wild oats. Avadex herbicde was very popular here at the time. My old 2090 looks a little newer than it does 30 years and a few thousand hours later.

1989 doesn?t seem that long ago. I have a boy that must be the same age as the little fella in the video, he looks a bit different now too, but I haven?t changed..... just like you .... right ? Great video, wish that I had some from that time too.

I got my first camcorder in 1987 and recorded a lot of farming stuff. I need to get it all transferred to digital before the VHS tapes degrade too much. I have more to put on youtube when I get around to it.
 
Very interesting. Your expertise with pictures, video, editing, You Tube. ETC., is a nice talent to have. I certainly enjoy watching and listening even though I don't "look in" every day. I also forget to click a "like" even though they are all worthy of that.
 
Well done. Also wish I had taken more videos years ago at the farm. What was the line in the song? ?These are the good old days ....?

Good to hear some people find this old stuff interesting. Stay tuned, more to come. Its a time consuming process transferring from vhs tape to dvd but when its -20F outside I'd rather work indoors on something like this
