Has anyone had experience with SnowDogg snow plows?
My knees have gotten bad enough I can't push the snow blower.
I can't justify the cost of a Western or Meyers. I'm not going
to do this as a business, I used to plow for a small town and
don't want to be a slave to the weather again. This will only
take care of a few properties.
Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks

From their web site, they look well made. Stainless steel is a good indicator. At $4400 they are not cheap. In fact Meyers can be found less expensive. Why not a blower with crawler tracks, pushing is not in style. I don't push much using my 24" craftsman. Jim

I have seen a couple around if that helps.

Had a snowdogg V plow on a work truck that was used to plow miles of logging roads UP here in the very snowy upper peninsula and only issue I ever had was hydraulic hoses snagging on things. The trip edge and center hinge help up really well.

We sell boss and snowdogg at work . The snowdogg plows we sell are light duty for the home owner type . But I'm sure they do have bigger plows . Never seen one in for repair yet .

I had a boss and a snow dog. Didn't like the snow dog at all. Light duty, remote had lag between pushing the button and it moving. Remote also had the logo lit up super brite so it bothered me so I colored it in with a Sharpie. Also the buttons are spaced far apart so I was always moving the remote in my hand to get to the buttons. If you get a snow dog when you in hook it make sure you put it on float and push the top of the cylinder all the way down, or hooking it up next time is difficult.

My knees are bad enough that I'm starting to be unsteady standing up.
And I like plowing snow. Just don't want to be a slave to the weather again.
I worked for the Town of Beverly Shores for five years and it got to the
point where I hated winter.
I got a price of $4000 installed.
My Christmas present comes early.

Jim, I absolutely agree.

Pushing/piling snow is GREAT if you have enough room towards the back of the property and a short winter.

But, for those of us who (stupidly) live where winter is LONG and REAL, having a good snowblower is a better choice than any type of "snowplow", IMHO.

When you use a snowblower on a good windy day you make NO piles of snow that only serve as a windbreak/snowfence to hold MORE snow on your property the next time it snows and blows, IMHO.

On the other hand, my bigshot neighbor towards the entrance to the cul-de-sac with a $$$ "plow" on a "side by side quad" equipped with tracks makes 15' high piles of snow that stop drifting snow, blocking us neighbors in.

(He's a JERK, BTW!)

My dad was in the same situation. He put a Snow Bear plow on his 4x4 Ranger. Two point mounting, manual angle and a small electric winch for lift that stayed with the plow when unhooked. May be just what you need.

Really none of my business but why not get you knees replaced --- you wont regret it -- we only live so long so why spend years nursing sore knees/ pain killers / associated grumpiness. Talk to your Dr.

I hope to get them done but it won't be till summer.
I was supposed to get to them last spring but I ended
up having trouble with my colon. Emergency surgery in
May then two months in the hospital.
I'm just now healed up from that.

Beverly Shores has the dunes as hills, and lake affect as a sponsor of snow grief. We owned 210ft of the beach in the late 50s and 60s, about 250 feet east of the Pink Worlds Fair house. We lost it to the Dunes National Lakeshore Park in the 70s. Nasty $0.10 on the dollar eminent domain land grab. Jim

Nice place. My Dad built the mansions that were next to the World's Fair house. (now gone) I attended Pine Twp Grade School on Brown Road. Small World. Jim
