A WWII marine, my neighbor and friend, passed away yesterday. He'd been fighting cancer for some time now.
He was still 16 when he enlisted, and was 17 when he shipped out to the ETO as a tank mechanic. We used to shoot together, and even in his early 90's, he could shoot his .45 or a rifle as accurately as anyone I've met.
