spray on non stick substance

have never tried that , but cant see it working. snow just soak it up and stick anyhow. nothing like clean metal.

Better to time your snow removal for hours that are colder like first thing in the morning - this
workes especially well for snow blowers that plug easly in soft snow conditions.

I have tried silicone spray on my tractor blower chute. Works, but not
for very long. Like ACG and another had said clean glossy paint works
best.

I think I found something that works. Did and internet search and found this. I wiped the bucket down good and then wiped again with a abundant dose of paint thinner, sprayed a abundant coat of pictured spray let dry for 30 minutes and it worked quite well. Picture of bucket after 45 minutes of scooping.

Thanks for all the comments.

I've used graphite paint on snowblowers, aluminum scoop shovels, gravity boxes and the underside of lawnmower decks. It works well for me for a full season or more.

Pam and other cooking oil sprays are OK if they are fully dry before they touch snow, but don't last all day.

Ski wax (glide wax not the grip wax) would be ideal, wear longer than cooking oil and silicon, but do not wear long and no longer come in aerosol spray, only pump spray and melt-on.

I had a bucket custom built (looked just like a wesendorf)then I brought it to a place and had it powder coated black --
still looks like new after 8 years and things dont stick -- (well not much any way) Roy

In the past I have found a good shiny coat of a good paint and then a good wax job after the pint has had a bit of time to harden to work very well

We use the graphite paint on mower decks, bale stacker wagon tables, excavator bucket & dump trucks when hauling clay. Doesn't last forever but I always thought we more than got our moneys worth out of it. If you've ever had an 8 yard dump rear up on its hind legs because the load was stuck in the box, you'll understand why I love that paint.
