Gooseneck Flatbed Question

I'm looking at a Load Trail Hydraulic dove tail trailer. The one I'm pricing is a new 32 ft. I could buy the exact same trailer in a 36 ft. for about $300 more. The 36 ft is new also but has been on the lot longer. I heard that anything over 32ft in a gooseneck that you might have trouble with that extra length going down the road. Is that true? Is the resale value better on a 32 over a 36? Thanks

They all pull the same. Dips and parking are the only place you will notice the extra length. Oh and when you fill that extra space your pickup will complain.

when I bought mine I was looking for a 32'. they had none in stock and they sold me the 36'. glad I took the longer one. its the tandem 10.000 lb. axle dually . I sure did not want the triple axle single wheel.

Depends what you want to haul. The hydraulic tail trailers are heavy and have a relatively low payload. If what you want to haul fits on 32 feet, the trailer will weigh less than a 36'.

A couple years ago, I had a 30'(25 + 5) custom built. The axles were placed way towards the back, in order for me to move my JLG400S with pick up. I really have to pay attention when turning. I could not imagine a 36 footer. Not unless the axles were more forward.

Something to think about.
The wheels on my 20+5 dove tail are near to end of the flat , so lets said the center of the back axle is 18-19 ft back, with dove tail you have fold out ramps that add another 5 ft when loading.
Hydraulic dove tail has 10 ft of the tail that drops down for loading, wheels must be forward of the drop down tail there forth the back axle on a 30 hyd dove tail is in the same position has the axle on a 20+5 fixed dove tail.
I'd like to have a 30-32 ft hyd dove tail has it would run in the same tracks as my 20+5, with a 36 ft I'd have issues in some of the places I go.
If you have plenty of area and room to swing in and out of drive ways get the 36 ft, other wise I wouldn't go over a 32'
