Hmm...for some reason Larry's post isn't showing up on my screen (Modern View blip, maybe?). Saw the link in Classic View.

Larry, fabulous link!! That's definitely one for the record books -- in several categories. Thanks for posting!

Why, why, why doesn't this site find one format that works and go with it instead of constantly patching and quick fixing stuff that works on one format and not the other? Why?

I agree 100%. Go with the modern version just like every other discussion forum on the 'net.

Clarence, they have explained to me that the spam filters used on the two different views are slightly different and every now and then something that is OK on classic will get caught in modern. That is why if you go to Larry's original post in modern it comes up with "nalert" in the link. There is a "bad" word in it somewhere. Don't shoot me I am only the messenger.

I was able to click the link in classic view. That tractor looks incredible, I love the black paint job. It just seems so powerful just by the looks.

Have seen Jack and nnalert many times. He is a regular exhibitor at Plain City and West Liberty, Ohio tractor shows. Great guy to visit with and hear all about the tractor.

Because Classic view is "more better". It actually shows the flow of posts/replies... and who is replying to whom. Whereas in Modern, if people choose to remove the quote of the original poster - then one cannot tell whom they are replying to.

Honk if you like Classic.

Beep-beep! :)

I don't remember that tractor at West Liberty and never went to Plain City. If I met him at W L I did not know who he was. And for the ones that do not know I worked on the pull there for about 20 years.

They tried that when they brought out modern and so many said they would leave YT if they droped classic thay kept classic but they kept modern for the few that liked it But the orignal users were going to leave if they had gone with their plans to drop classic. And that was the majority at that time and a lot of us still prefer classic with just the newer users liking modern. The only advantace to modern is larger pictures but someware along the line they changed classic from the larger picture to the smaller like we have now.

You can watch "Classic Tractor Fever" on RFDTV several times a week. It comes on at 1:00pm Saturdays here. Of course with U-Tube you can watch what you want, when you want.

I was one of them that told them if they droped classic I would be gone as well and that was after I had been on here for years. They also droped some info off of classic for modern that they should have kept on classic so it is no longer avaible. HONK HONK

Those of us that were on here 15 years before you joined hate modern and if classic was droped we would be gone.

That's fine. My point was why try to keep two systems going that won't work with each other?

Pick one, either one, make it work right and be done with it. I much prefer modern but can work with classic if it came to it.

Dump one, either one, fix the other, make it work, the way it is now is a mess.

Doesn't anyone think looking after one good system would be easier than juggling stuff to try to make two incompatible systems interact would be better for the site operators?

It doesn't make a bit of sense to me the way things run now.

My biggest deal with classic is that this post right here will be 2/3rd's of the way down or more right now on page two when on modern it will be the top thread on page one. Much easier to find there.

I have been here pretty much from the start. I use modern. Much easier to navigate.

Whenever I see Classic vs. Modern come up the reasons given for preferring classic are pretty much the same reasons that I prefer modern, except for that old standby: "its older so it has to be better," LOL.

No, it's, "I DON'T LIKE CHANGE!"

This forum site is predominantly occupied by grumpy old men. I mean absolutely no offense; own it guys. Grumpy old men don't like change.

Whoever got the two forum systems to work together as well as they do is a genius. Minor hiccups like this are nothing.

I know if they take away modern view, I'm gone. Sure some of you will say "good riddance" but so can I.

I will soon be 69 years old, so if that makes me a "grumpy old man", I will wear that badge with honor, and continue using the MODERN forum. For what it's worth, I was using the modern forum BEFORE it got mixed up with classic.

Hey, nothing wrong with being a "grumpy old man." Anyone that gets there has earned the right to be one.

People want to know why the CLASSIC forum lingers. The reason is simple: "grumpy old men" who refuse to change with the times.

You know, I'd bet the ones who use classic and hate modern will never see these posts because this thread will be buried 3 or 4 pages down by now.

Another thing, if classic is dropped they're gonna leave. Where would they go?

Yes, where would they go? Maybe, just maybe the real reason some folks like classic is because they are technologically challenged, and don't know how to log into the modern forum.

Rusty, you may just have something there! And now that it is Christmas time and grumpy old Fa**ts are going to be visiting family for Christmas, they could bring their laptops along and get their grandkids to get them onto modern.
