Winters beauty is sneaky

Here?s a picture my daughter took of our trail to the woods. Mixed in with tractor (1255 Oliver) tracks are one her brother?s tracks from his early
morning Thanksgiving day deer hunt. The sneaky deception of the snow is that it came in wet, froze there and started trees bowed down and breaking
all over the area. Power outages for thousands for Thanksgiving and for days after. What a mess!

we don't have snow conditions like that in south central TX but we do have occasional ice storms and broken limbs and trees are a problem. my house is all electric (late '60's/ cheap electricity) and our rural water system has no backup power. it can get complicated.

Beautiful. In my neck of the woods a picture like that is tracks through the corn or bean stubble which is about as blah as you can get.

We got 6-8 inches of new snow the other day and it's so darn dry that you cant make a snowball. Woke up this morning to clear skys and -5 degrees, looks like it ain't changing anytime soon!

Thanks I?m glad you guys like that picture. I should add that we?re 10 miles south of Lake Superior here and are used to snow.
Our first snow event of the season 3 weeks ago dropped 14? of super dry fluffy snow. This last one was 7or8? of wringing wet
snow. Inconsistent for sure! I?ll take the camera when I go to the woods later.

Yeah, one winter at K.I.Sawyer was enuff,Then I went to Duluth for 4, then back to Alaska for 3 !!! more snow in Da Yupie. (BTW then I went to Florida)
