2 bottom semi mount plows

I am interested in seeing any pictures people have of 2 bottom semi-mounted plows. I do not believe any manufacturers ever actually produced such a plow but I know there are many custom made plows running around. Pictures of them on the internet are few. A two bottom semi mount would be neat for a plow day!

Dearborn made a bunch of them to fit Ford & Furgeson tractors, IH made 'em for tractors that were equipped with fast hitches & considered as mounted plows. I don't about semi-mouned. Jal-SD

A French company called Bonnel made a semi mounted reversible plough back in the 1960-70's. It was the only plough I have ever seen that could plough in the swath of a 10' combine harvester and leave no straw on the surface. My father used one behind a 1967 Ford 4000 for many years.

Ben, I don't know of any ever made. I could build one, but I think it would be very difficult to keep it plowing nice. Every variance in the soil would make it nose in or out without a LOT of tail weight to stabilize it for and aft, and the geometry of semi-mounted plows are much different than trailer plows. There were some 3 bottoms built, but they were mostly newer high clearance plows with more length.

I should have said I could built one from a CASE JTA plow, but how it plowed would be very questionable.

Check the website IH Cub Cadet.Com, look for posts made by Mr. PLOW. He made a Quarter scale IH #520 plow, best to scale semi-mounted plow I've seen, plows great too. He would make another one I'm sure.

ACG I have pictures of an ST that was knocked down to a 2 bottom. It looked good. I do not know how it plowed though.

I have ideas with a plow but I need the time and money to play around with it.

As always I do things where it could be set back to ?stock? if desired.

WC Allis Chalmers had a 2 bottom disc plow and a B Allis Chalmers had a 1 bottom disc plow.I have one of each.

The ST Case plows still utilized a top link to keep the plow from nosing forward and to control depth, front to back. They were not a true semi mounted plow, and EH tractors did not have depth control other than the operator.

Smallest factory plow i seen,we sold a spring reset ihc 3 x 18" plow to a neighbor when i worked at ihc. He plowed a lot pulling it with a M.M. Super 670 diesel

Most semi-mounted plows sold were 4 to 6+ bottoms. Deere made semi-mounted F135/F145 plows as small as 3 bottoms. I don't know if they could be cut down to 2 bottoms, find a manual on Ebay to be sure before buying a plow.
