this makes about 14-16 broke locks and gates this year getting a little tired of it, gate wes left open got the cows runnin in the corn fields don't think they got out, about quarter mile in car stuck in waterway nobody around Its 5 am come back at daylight see what's going on...?..no I didn't call the law, I will take care of this

Be careful and safe.
I know a man who got issed with people tresspassing on his property. A car got stuck. Man took his payloader and pushed car in a lake. Expensive mistake. Man had to pay for the car.
Don't do anything that could come back on you.

I really think you should call the police. That's just one of the many reasons they're for. You can easily be in more trouble than the ones breaking the law.

sounds like the problem is that you're not calling the law, why not impound the car, word would get around, or maybe you like chasing cattle.

OHIOjim I will say it again this has been going on for 20 + years no phone call is going to help me once again I will take care of it my self. took the tags off the car and pushed it out of the mud, now to fix the ruts in the waterway when it dryes up some

They keep cutting the locks? Then why not make a heavy steel shield that will ONLY allow for key access -- no room for bolt cutters?

Do you NEED a gate there?

If you have a payloader, dig a trench around the car with a note that they can hire you to fill the area in so that they can get their car back. Only thing is, if it's stolen.

I must say, seems awful strange that people would simply continue to break their way onto your land. What are they after? Do you have security cameras? Warning or No Trespassing signs?

And finally, if your local law enforcement won't do anything about the people, then maybe you should consider going up to the next level. If you're in city limits and getting no help, call Sheriff. They still have jurisdiction in city limits when necessary. If not them, then move up to State Police. They have jurisdiction all over your state.

See about having vehicles towed at the car owner's expense. They would have to pay impound to get it back. This is just a quick idea, and I have no idea who actually has to pay in a situation like that -- the car owner or the land owner. Look into it. If the car owner has to pay, then post signs that ALL vehicles will be towed at owner's expense.

I know this has been going on a long time (far too long), but I have to wonder if you have done every thing possible. If no cameras, then you haven't. If no warning signs, then you haven't, etc, etc... I think you already know this needs to end....like yesterday(!), but it needs to end without the use of firearms. You bring firearms into the picture and you will automatically give them power in the eyes of the law. The ONLY exception is in self defense, and even that can be questioned at times.

As a final note, if you go all the way to state police and still get no help, then go to the media. They always like giving law enforcement a black eye. Then maybe law enforcement will be more willing to help. Why they aren't.....is baffling me!

Don't know what's with people anymore.

Some years ago, people kept sneaking in on a field road and cutting firewood in my timber. I parked a disc across the field road entrance so they couldn't use it.

The drove in my yard when no one was home and shot out the mercury vapor yard light.

couple of years ago a strange truck was park at the entrance to my woods. Me and my BIl took the 8430 with the disc and roller and blocked the truck in. I put the key behind the screen and left. A few hours later here comes my tractor being followed by the truck that was parked at my woods. Turns out the neighbor kid got a different truck! He works for me some and know where I hide the keys and we both got a good laff out of it! The woods on 2 sides of mine are leased to hunters and like to put the stands facing me because I keep a trail mowed around it. I got yelled at one year for riding thru my woods. I went and got some tannerite and set it off close to them!

There is an escalation of the "war" about to happen. I think it has gone far enough to get someone hurt. First action is real intervention by authorities. The second is making the action not worth the effort. How often you would be inconvenienced is a factor, but at least under your control. jim

On Monday I was hauling round bales of corn stalks and watched two trucks drive to the back of my farm (we are extremely muddy)and three hunters get out. Their plan was to drive the deer off my rented farm down to their waiting friends and maybe even shoot one themselves. When I drove back with the tractor the old man tried to say they had permission(they did not) then they were hunting coyotes (really in deer season?)and finally that they had shot a deer and were tracking it. I blew my top and they left in a hurry. They were across the creek from me so no way I could see enough to get a tag or I would have called the game warden. What is it with people? Tom

I was going to suggest some well hidden trail cameras, but you HAVE their car, so you KNOW who the culprit is. Act accordingly. For what it's worth, the castle law now includes not just your house, but anywhere on the farm.

I'd either call a tow truck company and have it towed to an impound lot or tow it out my self or if it is a creek call DNR. DNR does not like things like that in a creek. As for cut locks that is destruction of private property so a trail cam goes a long way in the cop shop as for arrests being made

Because calling the police will do so much good. All it will do is document the angry land owner when the "something" happens to trespassers.

(quoted from post at 08:41:41 11/27/19) this makes about 14-16 broke locks and gates this year getting a little tired of it, gate wes left open got the cows runnin in the corn fields don't think they got out, about quarter mile in car stuck in waterway nobody around Its 5 am come back at daylight see what's going on...?..no I didn't call the law, I will take care of this

Why do you create a thread and post here about the above all the time?
You never take anyones sensible advice, or you do and don't admit it here.
Instead you brag about "I will take care of it".
Your just trolling for attention here.

I really doubt that you "take care" at all and just come here to stir the pot and get a bunch responses.

Since that seems to be the case, this response now validates the above.

I had problem with hunters driving through standing alfalfa. I plugged all possible access with big round bales. Stopped the problem. If they wanted to hunt it was a 1 mile walk to bottom ground.

If you want to see a real bozzo obsessed with trespassers, go to U Tube and see
"Outdoors With Eric" Every couple of days he makes a video of so called trespassers.
Since summer he has yet to really video anyone or anything doing anything on his land,
including hunting. He says the LAW won't help him either.

I go into Thanksgiving knowing that I an a blessed man, not of my own making. I have a farm about five miles from where I live. I have signs, WALK IN ONLY with no violations or troubles.

Stone rock

Sorry some YT members can't be polite and courteous.

To keep ATVS out of my woods, I blocked the path with a large log.

I agree, it?s a similar story every three or so months
from stonerock. I live 75 miles from my property and
have had little to no trouble in 20 years. Being from
the show me state I just have a hard time believing
one guy can have such bad luck with trespassers. I
don?t recall ever seeing pictures of these
occurrences which leads me to believe he?s just
trolling.

what part of the country do you guys live in ? have 80 acres with road frontage on three sides ATV and UTV road routs on two sides and prime hunting land and in my 50 of ownership have had ONE case of someone trespassing and he was no problem when i talked to him . i just don't get all the people that post about trespassing. we DO NOT put up no trespassing signs and no one around post either.

Years ago dads neighbor would take his loader tractor and a couple of bales of hay "when some one was trespresing on his land" he would raise the back of the car or pickup and place the bales under the drive axle. A big mean looking bull also help to keep trespresers out.

Doing things to keep them out is one thing but doing things to mess up their vehicle is another.

Just as many hothead trespassers as there are hothead landowners.

Put a skull and cross bones sign on the gate saying DANGER PESTICIDE APPLICATION, and leave a few empty Round Up jugs laying around. That'll freak them out haha. I know Round Up isn't a pesticide, but they won't understand herbicide.
