Yep, it's bitter, alright!

Got a tiny little splash of it on my face today and can still taste the $#@% stuff on my lips!
 
I worked with an old man who would taste antifreeze to determine the strength.ne warm day a salesman came in with a freeze plug from a gold colored 800 Ford Tractor. Old Celil misswed the taste by tasting it to 20-

The company must have changed the formula. It was never bitter. I have had is splash in my mouth and it was sweet tasting. Stan
 
Probably treated with Bitrex. Used to prevent poisoning. Dark chocolate is a pretty good antidote.

The point of may post, exactly.

Dunno how they do things in Oz, but most cooling system antifreeze sold in the US for the last decade or so is treated with a "bitterant" to make it unpalatable to pets and children.

And the &%$^ is NASTY!
