Wondering if I should put new valves and sleeve liners in my leyland. The shop wants to charge about 900.00 the head and rest of the tractor is decent. Is this a reasonable price? Thanks in advance.

we had a 272 and it was a great tractor . 900 sounds way low you say valves and liners what about bearings crank grinding pistons and rings and injectors just not a lot of info but you don't get a lot for 900

Yes,if it needs them, but check rod bearings,balance shaft and especially oil pump and filter plumbing. Turbo and water pump also. Does it start easily? Northwoods Tractor is good source of parts and advise.
