Shingle Oak tree?

Call around to local mills and see if anyone will buy them. They'll make firewood, if nothing else.

It all depends on how straight and solid they are. Like others said, most yard trees are not worth much and/or mills don?t want them , if that is the case. As a hobbyist woodworker, I don?t mind buying a standing tree and having a portable mill saw it up for me. The caveat is I don?t want to pay too much, since the risk is on me if the tree doesn?t make much good lumber, and if the sawyer hits anything, I?m on the hook for damaged blades. Most any large scale operation has little to no interest in only 3 trees.

Some places shy away from yard trees. Some don't. These trees are getting too big to be safe next to house.

I estimate I would cost me $800 to $1000 to have each tree removed. So reality if I get anything it's a win/win.

This time of year, getting rid of the branches for fire wood is very easy to do. Put as on Craigslist you cut, you haul., FREE.
George

George, how does that work if Joe Urbanite comes to cut the free wood, and his chainsaw kicks and severely wounds him. Your wood hurt him.-------------Loren

Or Mr. One tank of fuel chainsaw operator fells the tree in the wrong direction.

Does your insurance pay for damages when you let some uninsured joker try to cut them down for you?

That is a beautiful tree. I sure wish I had a few on my farm. I hope to plant a few soon. I?m sure you have reasons for wanting to take them down ,, but I would do it Only as a last resort.

Why do people on YT Assume that everyone
with a chainsaw is a BUBBA?

I only do business with professional tree
service or professional loggers, bonded
and insured.

Every heard of insurance?

Same thing will happen if someone slips on your snow covered sidewalk and breaks a leg.

That's what insurance is for.

I never heard of one so I googled it. Lots to read about. You could hand spit them into shingles for your new building ? If you did woodworking I'd see if someone could saw them up into boards and use them for projects. Or make shelves out of them for the new building ? I had some cherry and some odd boards sawed up and used a lot for shelves and a loft in the building. I have had more problems with kiln dried lumber from the lumber yard then I have had with air dried lumber.

Come on George: Trying to push a tree over with a Terramite and tipping it over on the ROPS while not wearing your seat belt, pulling 6,000# of gravel up hill with a Farmal C, Hauling and dumping gravel without the trailer ball coupled, mounting a push mower on a 2x4 then chains of said Terramite for ditches, why would we assume you would hire anybody but BUBBA?

Going to have to agree with Blackhole49 on this one. What ya fraid of George? Set your limits and you will have them, you don't know what your capabilities are until you fail! I think I read that in Johnathan Livingston Sea Gull, but I could be wrong so don't quote me on that. Besides you said you insurance?!

I don't believe in emoticons or there would be a smiley one here,
JD

Get the facts right, Never tipped terramite all the way over. Big mistake I'll never make again. Yes I didn't wear seat belt, another mistake I'll never make again.
Hauling and dumping gravel without the trailer ball coupled. Guilty, another mistake I'll never make again. Greatful I wasn't on county road, all done in gravel pit.
Guilty, pulling 6,000# of gravel up hill, Not on a county road, with a Farmal C. You have no clue of the angle of the hill, yet you have to condem everything I do. The laws of physics dictates what any tractor can do. Look at tractor pulls. Front wheels of tractor are in the air. That is far more dangerous that what I do. My front wheels are not air born. The weight of trailer, the weight on back wheels and angle of hill dictates the traction or I can't go up a hill, only spin tires.p>Only people that don't do anything don't make mistakes. They just want to condem those that can do things.

I've never seen anything you have built that is outside the box. Don't recall you posting pics of anything. Do you even a own a tractor? Do you live in the country? Did you grow up on a farm?

You may try to impune my charactor by say I don't hire professional tree trimmers. Each January my CPA has to send out 1099 to my tree trimmers because they get paid over $600. YTD, A&B tree service has done $1100 worth of tree work. Would you like to call them? I don't recall a year I haven't had to send him a 1099.
So stop posting negative things about me and impunning my charactor.
What Have I ever done to you???? Try to be happy and positive Please!!! Try to be a friend.
Geo

Well George, I live in the country, have 9 tractors and posted several pictures of home built equipment. Go back and reread your posts from 2016 about my metal roof replacements and then tell me your nothing but positive. I'm just repeating a few of the things you've posted within the last year. You do a good enough job of impuning your own character without me. Your the one that asked the question about Bubba. I was just trying to answer it.

blackhole49,
Please call a truse. I'LL REQUEST THE POWERS TO BE ON YT THAT YOU DON'T REPLY ON MY POSTS AND ILL NOT REPLY ON YOUR POSTS. Please Stop the personal attacks.
If I ever attacked you personally, SORRY.

I hope the YT police will put a stop to this madness.
