Rare Chevrolet fender logo

I picked up a Chevrolet dealers book showing their truck lineups in the early 60s. I was flipping through it yesterday and saw an emblem I didn't even know existed.

It was used on the C6303, and C6503 models that were ordered with a heavy duty off-road package.

The logo shows a beaver sitting on what I guess is supposed to be a log.

I'm curious if anyone has a truck with this badging, or has ever even seen one.

This wasn't a dealer badge.

It was actual factory badging for trucks within the two lines listed, built with a specific RPO code, for off-road use.

The book I've got is several inches thick, and covers every option offered on the trucks, from the light duty Corvan models (based on the Corvair) through the tandem axel heavy trucks.

It's really interesting to see the variety of options that were available from the factory, be it engine and transmission combinations, to the tires put on it. Even more interesting is that the book shows all the technical specs, like engine speeds with the various combos, etc. There's even a sliding calculator that lets you figure fuel usage/savings using gas vs diesel (at 20 to 40 cents per gallon).

Canadian maybe?

Wayne ..... since the beaver is on the back of our Canadian nickel, maybe the emblem was nickel plated and not chrome? So the dealership might have had a branch in Canada somewhere back then?

Meanwhile, you knew I was joking right?

C65 with HD off road package? Very very rare birds indeed. Doubt if many (if any) were ever built. The left over emblems were probably trashed.

Yeah, I knew you were joking. In fact, I found comments similar to your final sentence in more than one place where I found the emblems discussed... LMAO....

That said, I can see where different dealerships may have had custom badging made up for vehicles they sold back then.

As a result, I just figured I should clarify my original post. I had said dealership, when I probably should have said manufacturer.

To be honest, I'm really not sure what to call the book. As I said, it's got EVERYTHING a dealer would need to know in order to help them sell their customer exactly what they wanted.

In the 60's a lot of 50 and 60 series trucks were ordered with double frames and 24000 capy rear springs for dealer stock. Many of were equipped with a Neway tag axle By the buyer for their hualing purposes.
