I'm usually unlocking the shop door, clocking in at 6:45, trying to get the place opened up, parts storage unlocked and vehicles outside before my co-worker shows up. I like those few minutes to myself. Some days, truck drivers are waiting with flat tires/light problems or hydraulic/electrical issues. That'll mess with my quiet time. Boss usually gets in 30-45 minutes after I do. Most of the time when he gets here, I'm already deep into something. Makes the day go faster!!

I'm with you on being early. I am a compulsive punctual (or early). In manufacturing, I was always in at least 1/2 hour before my employees. In engineering I would be in the office by 6am, turn on the lights and make the first pot of coffee. I could get more done (mostly work but also time on this site) before 8am than I could the rest of the day because of distractions.
I retired in 2007 and still get up a 4:45am, seven days a week...to go to McD for coffee at 6 am with the other local early birds.
