Use one of the compact jump packs small enough to go in a good sized glove box??!! Wife is asking what I want for Christmas and a jump pack is one item. The big ones by Clore and others are good, just wondering if a small one will do OK for normal, small gas engines??

I bought one on a whim at Costco a few months ago came with a pouch and small enough to fit in a glove compartment. My company car had a flat battery would not even turn on the dome lights. Hooked that little sucker up and it fired that ford right up. I doubt it would have lasted long if it had to crank on it a while. Needless to to say I was pleasantly surprised. It will also charge your phone with the appropriate USB adapter.

I have a Whistler branded one I bought at Walmart a couple years ago like that. Roughly the size of a small paperback novel. Works great on the lawn tractor and my Samurai, was barely enough to get the Caddy STS V8 cranked over, but did get the job done. Doesn't do diddly squat on any of my diesel trucks, though to be fair, I also have a Clore JNC950 2000amp jump box that struggles with the diesels as well if they're anything beyond just slow cranking...if it's to the point that the starter is clicking, then I have to go get a truck to jump start with.

On the other hand, that Whistler has gotten the 2.0L gas mill in the Samurai going even when I get zero signs of life in the Samurai with the key on.

My buddies 7610 Ford had a dead battery this fall, I used my little jump pack to start it, so he could finish wrapping bales, while I went to get an alternator. They work great.

I won a NOCO Genius Boost GB70 at a tractor pull a few years back. It is rated at 2000Amps. I have used it on several cars, tractors, lawn mowers and quad bikes. I works very well. I have even used it to start my 91 Dodge Cummins once. I could not believe it would turn that Diesel over, but it did. Of course it was flat dead after that. I take it with me when ever I go to a tractor pull or show. It measures about 6"X9"X3". Something like this would be fantastic gift.

I have a couple of them, both are small, and would fit in jeans pocket, definitely fit in most glove boxes. These little jump boxes are amazing and will jump most cars and trucks with a low/dead but good battery. They should definitely start small stuff with or without an actual battery.
