Sometimes you just have to try

Sometimes you just have to try to fix something just to see if you can.

The bottom was tore up on this light and I felt the challenge of trying to fix it.I hammered on it a bit and clamped a washer to it and brazed

it in. Then I put a new bolt thru the spacer and brazed it on. Last I welded the bolt to the washer.

Looks like it will work to me, just wish it was warmer so I could paint it.

Saturday I had a wheel I had to paint, and it was around 35F, so I painted it outside, and put it inside on some newspapers on the stove and turned the exhaust fan on, and had hardly any odor in the house. SWMBO wasn't the happiest, but she got over it.

I have painted things like that in cold weather and it turned out good. I set the can of paint on a bucket several feet from the torpedo heater, and then warmed up the object to be painted. Did the actual painting outdoors and immediately brought it back in and placed it where a heat lamp would keep it warm.

Using rustoleum I have painted a lot of rake parts when it was cold out. I would just have the can warmed up good in house when I sprayed them and in just a few hours the paint would be freeze dried and could not tell any difference than what I painted when it was sunny and 70 out. Actually dried better than on the warm day.
