MF 65 won't budge

My Massey Ferguson 65 was driven into a dry barn 3 years ago and hasn't been used since. The engine was weak so I thought I might get into doing the valves and rings, but when I went to move it the rear wheeels are locked. Shift lever, high low range and PTO levers ae all in neutral. I took the brake actuating rods out, thinking he brakes might be stuck, but that didn't change anything. I can't imagine anything that could have caused any damage to the drive train just sitting there. Does anyone have any ideas?

I recently had the same trouble on an MF S90 that had set awhile outside, both brakes were stuck. What worked was to back the adjusting nuts off, then beat IN the rods to release the brakes. Pulling out APPLIES the brake.

If the tractor axles do not even wiggle, it could be ice in the finals. If it does move a tiny amount, brakes. Blocking the wheels, and leaving
the brakes off is a best practice. Applies to the clutch as well. Blocking down the pedal so the pressure plate is loose on the disk. Jim

Brake could have rusted up and locked. Or if it is cold enough where your at ti be below freezing it could have ice in the transmission or rear end etc. Or due to rust in the transmission it could be locked up

You guys are great! The loose rods fooled me into thinking the whole assembly must be free, but not so. I gave the rod a good whomp on each side with a heavy hammer, and now the wheels turn. Thanks!

I have two MFs, both have stiff transmissions and will appear to lock up on their own. moving tractor a few inches or bumping multi-power seems to make them loose and you
can shift. A dead tractor might be a problem. I always park them in neutral. (one is a 65)
