I use 12v mower batteries that have difficulty starting a mower in my Farmall C. Well today I had to retire a 2012 battery.

I use old mower battery in Farmall because a good battery shear off starter drive in winter. I also replaced cables with 10g wire.

Today I pulled a battery out of lawnmower that's waiting on a drive belt.

Used Farmall to mulch leaves. Too many leaves for John Deere's to mow without choking the leaf vacuum shoot.

Some may find it difficult to believe a mower battery will get it done.

May suggest that you take a toothbrush and a dab of soap and keep the top of your battery clean. Really makes a difference I have found.

I started our Farmall C today, with a 5 year old 6 volt battery, and it was -2 F overnight! I cheated, I put my magnetic heater on the oil pan and the charger on the battery for 5 hours, and it started right up. I needed to move it out of the way to put the Bush Hog off the JD in the shed first. I get everything inside but it's tight!

Hard to belive how much power is robbed from a dirty battery.let it draw moisture and like a 2 amp draw. Our old exide battery salesman showed that to dad when he had 6 lime and fertilizer trucks. We had dead batterys all the time.after that he kept them clean gained a third more battery lifetime

Baking soda and water works better.

if you remove the label you will find 6 caps under there so you can check the water level or empty it put new acid and distilled water and it will probably last a few more years.

4520,
Rural King is King(no offense Loren) when it comes to certain things like batteries, oil, nuts and bolts by the pound, chains, binders, guns, ammo, LED shop lights, popcorn, mostly farm/tractor items.
Menards for other items.
Don't have to drive very far for either RK or Menards.

pinball,
Belive me when I say I've tried everything and Never had any luck bringing AGM batteries back from the dead. I have 3 dead batteries that I will either use as core battery or Sent to recyclers where they pay by the pound.
In the spring RK sells batteries at a discount. I usually buy one or two batteries. I have a new one at my other property to replace the mower battery.
The farmall gets the last year or two out of a dying battery.
My dump trailer get the last year or two out of dying car/truck batteries. Currently have 2 dying car batteries that are 7 or 8 years old. I can only get 3 dumps out of the 2 old batteries.

I have to travel about 15 minutes north to get to both of those. Longer now that die65 is a mess,so I take back roads.

I sometimes use dawn soap to clean batteries or window cleaner or brake cleaner anything to keep the case clean and flush with lots of water
