Hello From New Member

Hi everyone, I'm a new member here. I couldn't find a dedicated thread for new member introductions, so I decided to just say hello here. I have a couple 20 series John Deeres and a couple 40 series as well. I try to do as much of the maintenance and repair work on them as I can. I joined to take advantage of the knowledge resources available here for those things I just can't figure out on my own! Glad to be aboard, and thanks for having me.
Jim

Welcome, there is a lot nice people here with lots of knowledge. If you want to post about something not tractor related, make
sure you go to Discussion Forms (OT) Off Topic. Just don't post about Politics or Religion, it is not allowed by Moderators on
this site.

Welcome, This is a great community of tractor and equipment lovers with one thing in common, to keep our beasts alive. You will
enjoy this forum! As you stated, a lot of knowledge around here!

Victor ..... great advice ..... what you are really saying though is ..... "Post freely about politics or religion, everyone loves it but pretends they don't. Then we whine and complain when something gets poofed (made to disappear quickly without any apparent reason or advance warning) and we accuse the webmasters of being brainwashed by the culture on the west coast of America where they live." Oh, and I think you suggested going to Tractor Tales ..... two forums down on the menu on the home page. Things are a bit more forgiving there but the same basic rules apply.

Welcome to the site. I do not post a lot but I read every day. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site and it is always interesting to read
even if the topics do not apply to the equipment that i have. I like the color green too.

Welcome!

One comes here for the knowledge... but ends up staying for the fun!

I think I arrived herein 2011 to ask a few questions for my husband (about our rusty 1931 Farmall Regular)... Never left.

Good to meet you I have a few old John Deere?s as

willing to help and occasionally a few opinions too.

Welcome.

What Steve said.

PS, you don't need to worry about spelling either (unless it's tail vs tale, as this difference seems to be important)

Welcome to the YT forums.

This is a good site to learn what you need and share what you know.

There is a lot of knowledge and expertise among the members.

Some of us are even outstanding in our field.

My mother worked for you in the early 40's.

1020, 2020, 2440, 4440, plus a 310A backhoe.

The 2020 was purchased by my family new in '67. The 1020 is a '68, but purchased by us around '70 I guess. The 2440 is a '78 that was purchased around '80 with only a couple hundred hours on it. I restored it in 2015. The 4440 is the only one that hasn't been with us since almost new, but it has been well cared for throughout it's life and is still a nice clean tractor. It gets most of the workload these days.

The 1020 is about to go on the block for a restoration, beginning with an engine overhaul. My main reason for joining here is to find out how to convert it from a RoosaMaster CDC pump to a DB or JDB, as parts for the CDC are no longer available and it's not a great pump to begin with.

Hi, Tom. My post above was meant to be a reply to this question, but I hit reply instead of quote, and editing is apparently disabled too.

I sometimes feel like I'm getting old, but I was still a long way from being even born in the 40s!

As others have said there is a wealth of information here. Looking forward to your 1020 project, I have one here that sees
practically daily use, wouldn't be without it.
