Now that ain't right. I was expecting to see a bunch of old Cats working.

i've ran a lot of different equipment but have never had one that locked the lift lever in the lift position, like the scene lifting the truck. do they have such a thing ???

I can remember some that did that.
Mostly on cat highlifts and some scrappers.

The lever would kick out at full height so your
Hand was free for other controls.

Back in those day's there was a lot of levers and pedals to push.

Not like today's machines.

Yea they did lock into full lift , was not uncommon as like you said lots of controls to work . plus on the Cat track loaders the one control was backwards from what most were use to and it could get confusing for someone that did not run one all the time. Same with there track hoe . If you ran say Deeres they were different then a Cat . Now today you have the option to switch controls from Cat to Deere or Deere to Cat. In the OLD days back hoe controls differed from one Mfg to the next . Case with there three levers verses Ford then I H and once again Deere . I had to do a lot of PLAYING when i got the NEW dozer , i was use to all the OLD ways of the hand or foot clutch , had the OLD cable blade thing down and some hyd. Then here comes the NEW D9 G with full power shift and a Declarator, Way bigger machine then the old D 9 with standard transmission and hand clutch Full Hyd with tilt blade and first Hyd ripper . took a good week of playing up behind the shop to get where you had it down pat and every movement was second nature . then here comes Deere with the Hydrostatic drive and once again a machine that ya needed three arms and hands to run , one hand to control direction and speed , one hand to do the steering and one for blade control and they were Fast and once you get the hang of running one full tilt they handle like a skid steer . Then comes working on stuff one can never be to safe , sometimes you have to work on a running machine , Never wear loose floppy clothes around running equipment roll up them loose shirt sleeves , take them cotton chore gloves off , watch them loose fitten legs on you bibs , that that jacket off that is unzipped and hanging open , and us that thing setting ontop of your shoulders and stop and think what your doing before and while your doing something stupid . Never go looking for a Hyd leak with your hands even if you have GLOVES on . If your not use to a new piece of equipment then read the operators manual first or have someone that is teach you . Myself i have run alot of stuff both on tires and tracks and they keep coming out with NEW stuff and on the NEW stuff i even take time to lean the new ways . My how times have changed with STUFF gone are the days of two lever plus two pedal steering on dozers, to two levers , to two pedals and no levers , to one BIG toggle switch that does the steering and direction and two buttons to change speed , wheel loaders that now you steer with a Joy stick and change direction with one hand , one stick loader controls . I look back over my life time around Stuff and think back to the New Stuff i have run and starting with BIG tractors it was a S/MTA in the fall of 53 , first tractor with power steering then a 450 then a 560 then the monster the mighty 806 , From Crawler tractor farming to 100 Hp wheel tractors and each jump meant learning the do's and Don'ts .

I thought it was well done. I especially liked the scene where the brake chamber spring went through the rear window.

I really like that video they did it well enough to really make you think about what could happen . I just wonder if the names used was the names of actual guys those things happened to that?s kinda scary

My 941B locks in the lift position and kicks out at full height--also the bucket tilt lever works opposite of more modern machines, and most newer ones use left or right on the lever to tilt the bucket
