David Brown 990 hydraulic problem with loader now

Hello....I have a loader on my 990 that was working fine but my 3 point hitch was not. I found out that if I move the lever( 4 poisition) at left side to the 4th position ( closest to my leg) and the 3 point switch on right side to lift that I was able to get 3 point hitch working. Now when I move lever at left side back to number 1 position( closest to left fender) my loader will not work. I have moved left hand lever to all positions and the 3 point hitch is moving in all 4 positions now but no power to my loader. I believe something is stuck to allow 3 point hitch 2 work in all positions. Any ideas on where to start would b greatly appreciated. Thnx Joe

Those tractors had problems with the 3 point hydraulics, and I'm not sure why. The remotes worked good though....My 995 was in
the shop for the hydraulics, and they could not get it to work as it should, no matter what. I finally sold the tractor and
bought John Deere.

Most of the problems with the hydraulics were caused by the operators. They didn't read the OM and didn't know how to set the hydraulic system for the task they were doing, and many time hydraulic maintenance was minimal. For instance leaky shift boots allowed water to enter the hyd. system and filter changes were never done. The operators didn't read how to operate the tractor. For instance when plowing with a 3pt plow you would turn the selector knob to draft control. When mowing you would turn the selector knob to height control. If plowing with a semi mounted plow without an A frame hitch you selected TCU. To make these changes with the selector knob the operator had to pull the white control lever back and then compress the spring to move it further and then the selector knob could be moved. If the lever didn't engage the spring the operator could screw up the linkage by forcing it, and it would not do what it was supposed to do. I suspect that is the problem here, but we need to see how this tractor's hydraulics are plumbed.
Joe should post his question down on the CASE DB forum where the guys in the know reside.---------------------------Loren

#1, you need to get the operators manual as this is covered. #2- When you move the lever by your left leg, you are supposed to be holding the 3pt lever all the way to the rear to allow the circuit to change to the different positions. Hold it back and move the left leg lever to the #1 position as you call it and try the loader with the 3pt lever held back, that lets the oil change direction, so to speak. Once the oil is flowing to the loader circuit, you can let go of the 3pt lever and use the loader just fine. When you move the left leg lever back to position #3 (I think), the 3 pt should start working. Again, that control is covered in the Op Manual.
