Chopping corn silage and making wraped round bales with it!!

I have seen this done before. This is a better working video of it being done on a working farm over a manufacture's video where everything is perfect. Kind of neat how it is working. This video is in Holland like the other one. Here the operator is doing a pretty darn good job.

Corn silage harvest into wrapped round bales

$$$$$$$ wow, that was cool but I?m glad I don?t have to finance that deal you have 5 very expensive pieces there in one machine, might be getting near a million bucks?

I?m trying to wrap my head around a round baler that can handle finely chopped corn. Would think that would crumble out the sides when you open up the baler. Not to mention gum up the baler.

Thanks.

Jon if you look there is a thick rubber mat dragging along behind the baler/chopper. This leans the stalk butts over so they do not poke the bale.

Yea I was surprised when he backed up with the rig, would seem to be hard on that mat.

I saw that, but those stalks are sharp and it would seem like they would still poke holes. Just look at the damage they do to tires and tires are a lot tougher. Must work, just thought it was interesting.

It's a chain baler of all things.

Looks like it uses a special type of "netwrap" that's solid plastic.

There does appear to be a lot of material falling out as the bale is ejected.

Great video JD but how can that be economical? Buying a lot of plastic and net wrap compared to a small diameter silage bagger.

Thanks for the video JD. Never seen anything like that before. If it was good corn they were chopping and rolling I bet it would get very interesting trying to turn around on the end rows.
