Ford 3000 read wheel hub

Been trying to get rear hub off a Ford 3000 to replace the rake shoes but seems to be seezed on Do not have a puller large enough do not have a tourch anybody know how I can make A puller

This topic is on the once a month schedule here at YT. Many of us have had this problem. The brake drum will get rust "bonded" to each stud. What you need is a bigger hammer not a torch or puller. it will take shock to break the rust bond, a puller will break or bend something. If you have a propane torch you can pick up a MAPP gas cylinder for it and get the drum hot enough for wax to wick in around each stud.

Soak the studs and hub with penetrating oil.

Then use a big hammer, hit the outer edge of the drum on the face side, not the back. Hit toward the tractor, inline with the axle. It should cock the drum enough to leverage it loose from the studs and hub.

Once loose from the hub, if it still won't come off, be sure the shoes are backed off enough. Sometimes they wear into the drum leaving a ridge that has to pass over the shoes.

On my 9N I loosened all the hub bolts and cut figure 8s in the road until it popped loose. Mind you, I left the nuts on and only left 3-4 threads showing between the hub and trumpet mount.
