We started last Tues. and ran Wed. and has been raining since. We went out this afternoon at two and tried it but they were 16% moisture so we filled the carts hoping we could blend them off but the breeze wasn't much and they didn't dry so we quit. The weather sounds pretty good the next 4 days so we will see what happens.---Tee

Both of us dumping-We don't have enough help to run the carts in beans

There are 48 rows in each strip so I take 10 rows 4 times and 8 rows the last pass

Big Tee: I bet those combines have one thing these fancy news do not have???? They are paid for!!!!! LOL

Bang for the dollar the JD 8820 and 9600 are some of the cheapest BIG capacity combines you can buy right now. I watched a JD 9600 with only 2100 hour sell back in July. It only brought $20,000. I darn near bought it just to stick a grain head on to run soybeans.

Looks nice! My beans should be ready this week! Do you find any beans on the ground after you cut? I do when we cut with augers....belts are much more efficient..hard to afford. Whats your average this year?

T and JD, what are your beans yielding? Over here in west Central Iowa, we're 51 to 88. You can guess where the water has been!

I don't have a yield monitor in the ol 8820-Son has one and won't say..I can guess-not too bad.

Nice machines and a a great bin sample. I often struggle to get the right adjustments on my machine. For me a bin that clean means I put to much on the ground. Thanks for taking the time to post your pics. Tom

I bought the ol 8820 after my Dad died in 88-gave $28,500 for it on Mom's sale. Used to go to big sales and would see a couple of Mexican jockeys buy all the 8820s- 9600s-9610s but nobody wants them anymore. That 8820 with RWA and straddle duals with a older 925 platform wouldn't bring $6000! But it is a lot like me--big and old....and paid for!

105 EB-We put a love bar on it and could cut better---

We started here back on Friday, Moisture down to 14.8% Filled one trailer, about 27 ton. Had to do some repairs to flex head Sat. morning. Managed to combine 4 Kill Bros 350 boxes full before rain set in. Filled another trailer load yesterday.
Some may ask why the head is so small, It is 14' and that is all that will fit down our country roads, farm lanes, and gateways.
