alternator joke.

alternator on Cat Loader been giving trouble for some time now at work. they got a young guy to check it out couple days ago. he says alternator not charging , needs another one. gets rebuilt and installs it. then says I got to go and will be back in a while to check the batteries. ok, 3 hrs it sat running outside then I say the loader is stopped. I never saw him come back to check batteries. go to loader and batteries are dead now, and it started when he installed alternator. remove batteries , bring in shop and charge overnight. installed them yesterday morning and drove loader in shop. he played around with it all day looking for broken wire or whatever due to no power coming to excite alternator. I say just run a separate wire to the alternator. so ok he does that, loader is now charging. now loader wont shut off. I say to him u need a diode in that wire. he says ...k off! ok I keep working on what im doing then left at quitting time. come to work this morning then he comes in and I say u get her fixed? he says wont shut off. I go to shelf get a diode and say just try this for the heck of it. I keep doing my work. then I hear the loader start then stop a few times. I say ? you get working? he says yes, works like a hot dam. then says I need to spend more time with the old guys in your shop. I said and you thought I was telling you a joke about needing a diode... he says ya I did!.
