Starting problems

I have a gas 3000 tractor. I replaced key switch and starter solenoid. Turn key on position starter engages. I m lost has new starter on it also worked fine for awhile then last time used it had pull battery cable off to shut it down. You think need new starter again or something else
 
If it worked properly for a while the possibilities are #1. The key switch is defective. Remove the spade lug, if it has one, or the ring
eye connector from the S terminal of the solenoid. Put the battery cable on, and see if you have 12 volts on the wire. If you do, you have a
bad switch. If not, you probably have a bad solenoid on top of the starter.
 
Is the switch ORM or a generic? I replaced several on Massey forklifts with generic and replaced about every six months. OEM may not he better as it may not be as good as the one originally came on tractor
