When I turn the key, just click battery charged, had just ran it several days before. It is a six volt system, had changed the solienid. Any ideas?

A likely issue is a bad ground. Start at the connection where the ground battery cable attaches to the battery, and clean it. then the other end of that cable where it attaches to
the engine. Then go the other way from the hot battery post to the starter. Then from the starter to the switch. Jim

Check and double check all battery cable connections bet one or more are not clean tight and bright

Pull starter back and clean starter and block surface. Starter grounds to block. 6V needs clean, bright, and tight!!! Paint is not conductive.

There can be corrosion inside the cable battery post clamp, meaning you need to remove the cable wire from the clamp and clean
the bare wire ends.

Thanks to all that have replied. Will check again

I worked on a guy's MF generator. The generator was so rusty, I had to attach a wire to the brush connected to ground to make it work.

I started it at least once a week let it run, and drive it around when I wasn t using it. It just stopped starting. So I will check all the connections again and see what happens
