Check battery voltage after battery set for 36 hours without being charged.

Then measured CCA. Meter didn't show a bad Cell.

The problem was oxidization on + Terminal. The alternator voltage is normal for start up voltage.

The charging at start up went to 30 amps then soon went to normal.
After about 30 minutes current was almost zero.
All is back to normal.

Mark,
So... false alarm, then?
Not sure. Ammeter was pegged out when I was using it for hours on Saturday, 900 RPM's. Normally the alternator wouldn't start charging until RPM's were over 1200.
Then current wouldn't be 30+ amps. Only a few amps.
I still may have an issue with VR.
