What is propane drying gas going for in your area???

I booked propane back in the summer for $.95. They delivered the first load two weeks ago. I got the bill today, $.87 for it. I check with them and they told me that the price had fallen since I booked and they split the difference with me. I have dealt with this same supplier now for over ten years. If you take truck loads and pay ASAP he will beat anyone's price around here. They will bring another load this week. I want two in the tanks before we light off the vertical dryer. In 25 percent corn those two loads will run it for more than 48 hours. I do NOT want it to run out as that makes a mess.

So what kind of prices are you paying????

P.S. House propane is $1.00 even.

The corn is coming out of the field dry around here. The drier bin transferred all the corn and the burner has yet to on. Not sure if the late corn will dry down in the field but most is coming out around 14.5 and beans around 10.

The family owned dealer here sold out this summer. When they bombed the oil refineries last month the new people jumped their price $2.00 a gal. The CO-OPs are delivering new home tanks as fast as they can find them.

House propane in this area here (Southern Ontario) is around a dollar a liter...! Drier propane would be a bit cheaper, but most larger outfits have access to a natural gas pipeline at the road.

The last I bought was 2.00 gallon. That was in April. Noticed tank was at 20% yesterday so need to call and get some for winter. All I do is cook and heat water with it. Heat with wood.

Let me guess Ferrell bought the local company.

They bought a company here that had 2600 tanks. Our local coop had first chance at purchasing the family owned company but turned it down on price. Ferrell bought the company. Within 3 years our local coop picked up about 900 of those customers. Another local LP company picked up about 400 of the Ferrell customers and 2 other coops got a bunch as well.

Best thing our coop ever did by not buying the company. They got the business one tank at a time.

Propane in northern Idaho is $2.69 for small tanks. Saw Costco in St George, UT last week was a buck less. NW isn't to friendly on propane...NG or electric is cheaper!

We are not needing dryer gas,but day before they poped saudia arabia,i got 1200 gallons for .93 a gallon

(quoted from post at 19:59:38 10/07/19) Rookie question, what is dryer propane?

Dryer propane is delivered for grain dryers in larger volumes making the price cheaper. There is nothing different about the fuel itself.

Just shelled 1700 acres that was down around 13 or less pure dry and dusty. Beans are the same way now. Now rain for 38 days until night before last, got an inch and .6

dryer propane is used on a corn dryer to dry the kernals down to 15% so the corn will keep in a bin and not spoil. A friend that I help harvest corn tested some in the field yesterday at 26%.

Just curious, do you have to pay the same taxes on dryer fuel as the house? Way back, I remember Dad buying propane to irrigate with for 11 cents per gallon. The house was 9. Not sure why or when I remember that.

My corn tes ted at 16.2 this am. We will combine it tomorrow and sell right away to the etanol plant (Poet in Loomis).
A funny side note is that the farmer who supplies all the different colored corn for the murals on the Corn Palace was in the yard. He looked at the ears I had and said his yellow corn was "Iffy" and asked if he could buy two acres of mine, On the ear, standing. Hew wrote me a nice check and I will leave a two acre strip right from the middle.

What? Now there is low and high teat propane? Does the drying propane come in a different truck? Or is the price just adjusted for a "farm" tax reduction?
