Lost tractor

This might sound weird of a post but when I was growing up as a kid my dad had a 4430 John Deere tractor that was sold out from under neath him needless to say we never saw it again
I am posing this as too see if I could find her and bring her back to the farm. Serial number is 4430H-076274R

Looks like a 1977 model and probably late in production. Where is the farm located as it might be nearby? Having a serial number is an enormous help.

"Sold out from under him"? By whom? Sounds like an interesting story, if you'd care to elaborate.

Sounds like his wife sold it during the divorce.

Sounds to me like he had made a verbal purchase agreement with the seller, and then the seller sold it to somebody else.

Except, he said "bring it BACK to the farm."

Could have been an estate dispute, or even Dad selling *HIS* tractor after turning the farm over to Junior to farm with his own equipment. Never asked Junior if he wanted it.

Oh, a DATE, as close as you can get, would also be helpful. Did this happen in '78, '88, '98, '08, '18??

A chance the parts counter of your local dealership might have some info on the tractor if the serial number is in their system.

Determined said it right, go to your deere dealer and give them the serial number even if it hasnt shown up now, it could flag....

at least your looking for a 4430, we are looking for a G, 1950, 42679. Hasnt turned up yet...but we are still looking. Harder to find them at a dealership HA!

Good luck in your search

My dad had this tractor when I was a kid and his own family

the tractor was 1977 4430 had six lug rims in front with duck
tape holding grease caps on from what I can remember.
