I think I remember a post about a screen added to the top of the sediment bowl assembly to catch dirt in the tank from getting to the bowl screen, Is this a "part" or was it a DIY adaptation?

Thanks for helping my memory................

A screen above the sediment bowl would plug just as quickly as the screen on your sediment bowl. And it would be much harder to clean. Some have put a small riser pipe at the intake of the assembly so that it draws gas from 1 inch above the bottom of the tank and leaves any sediment on the bottom. Best solution is to clean your tank and then only use clean fuel.

There are tubular screens that you put in the intake of the sediment jar, they stick up into the gas tank aways. Not sure where to get one, but someone will let us know. My wife's motorcycle has something similar that sticks up about 3 inches, a great idea. I try to be very careful with our fuel, I have a couple of funnels with very fine screens, eliminates a lot of problems.

One of these little guys. Just go on Ebay. You might need to drill the hole in the neck a tiny bit larger to fit it. They work great.

I used a brass screen from a old transmission filter. I cut a piece, rolled it up and stuck it in the hole on top of the sediment bowl, on one of my tanks. Stan
