Since school started I mostly just have time to get essential chores done at home. I got most of the straw baled last weekend, there?s 18 acres left that?s cut then my own field works done for this year. I got 8 tandem loads out between the 2 pens today. There?ll be some feeders ready to go this winter and the rest will be finished out by spring. We?re planing to take more in as room becomes available.

Thank you very much! I have a very supportive family ,it
definitely helps a lot. Selling the dairy herd was a hard
decision but the right one for us, no one was happy mainly
because money was so tight and all we did was work to try
and get by with a little help as possible.

Oh that?s right I?m sorry, I was thinking it was you that recently bought a farm but it?s Jon. I remember seeing your garden pictures now. You put a lot of work into it and it shows.

Philip I am willing to bet that your stress level is WAY lower than when you where milking. That lower stress just makes all areas of your life better. Also learning "new" things makes life more interesting too.

You?ve got that right JD! The work load at schools steady but very do able and I really enjoy looking after the beef. I?m hoping someday my son might get a few of his own and we can work at it together but time will tell I guess. Knowing that a couple of bad years could cost us everything that our family has worked generations for is very hard on the head. My stress level is pretty low right now for sure.
